Christmas Day - Santa has Arrived

We had such a wonderful Christmas. I am so thankful and blessed for my family and friends. Hayden is at the age now that he completely understands who Santa is. He had a blast this Christmas.

Leaving Cookies for Santa.

Santa arrived and he ate a cookie.

The only thing he wanted from Santa was an "Ooby Doo Bus." (Scooby Doo Mystery Machine)

Waiting for Dad to open his Scooby Doo Mystery Machine.
He loved his Little Einstein's Pat Pat Rocket.
He loved his "To Infinity and Beyond" Gun.
Everyone digging into the food. We had my family and Trever's family over. We also invited my brother-in-law's mother and brother as well. It was really nice to be surrounded by a lot of family and friends.
We were able to squeeze everyone around our dining room table. Not in the picture, but are at the table, are Trever's Dad, Charlie, and my brother-in-law, Jon.

Baby Announcement

Yesterday, Christmas Eve, we had our 20 week check-up. We were so thrilled to see the baby and know that it was growing healthy. We are also pleased to announce that we are expecting a little boy in May. We are so happy that Hayden will have a little brother. This has been a wonderful Christmas.

Kid's Christmas Party

Saturday night we went over to my friend, Vanessa's, house for the annual Kid's Christmas Party. Each child drew a name and traded gifts. Megan's daughter, Gracie, drew Hayden's name and got him a Doctor's Kit. He absolutely loves it.

A Lovely group of ladies. These are my dearest friends. Going clockwise starting with me we have Megan, Vanessa, Kari, Heather, Kerie, Christa, and Jennifer.

A Snow Day

This morning we took advantage of what little snow we got. Hayden really enjoyed running and playing in the snow.

4 1/2 Months and Growing

Well, isn't this a sight? We are now 4 1/2 months pregnant. We go Christmas Eve for our 20 week ultrasound. We are hoping the baby will be cooperating so that we can find out the sex. Of course we will keep this a secret until Christmas Day. May seems just around the corner. I am hoping and praying that I do not have to go on bed rest like I did with Hayden. I was 33 weeks with Hayden when I had to go on bed rest. He was still three weeks early and weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. I have a feeling this baby will be just as big.

Family Photos

The day after Thanksgiving we went to Picture People to have some family portraits made. After making my appointment I thought it would be a nightmare going the morning after Thanksgiving, but we actually got a great deal. Our appointment was at 8:00 a.m. and for anyone who came in before 9:00 a.m. was able to purchase a gift card for half the price. We were able to purchase a lot of photos for a great price!

I made my husband do three things he hates to do: 1) Getting up early on his day off; 2) Taking pictures; and 3) Spending money.

This photo was Trever's idea. I look more pregnant than I really am. I think it is because I am bending down a bit so Hayden can reach my belly.

We got a large photo of this pose framed and matted for us. It is one of my favorite photos.

O Christmas Tree

Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite time of the year is Christmas. I just love the true meaning of Christmas and the magic that is shows. I love decorating early, so my tree and indoor decorations are always up a week or two before Thanksgiving. The outside decorations go up the weekend of Thanksgiving. Next year this tree will be in the front room since we will have a new family tree in the new basement.

I complain every year that I am going to get a pre lit Christmas tree. But I just love the way the lights look on my tree. I have nine strands of lights on my tree. That equals 900 bulbs.

I use to do a ribbon at the top of my tree, but I switched it up a couple of years ago. I now put poinsettia flowers and frosted berries.

Hayden's favorite ornament on "Momma's Tree."

These are my hand painted and hand sewn Santa's. I have had these for years and I just love them. Their faces are so pure and life like.

I have got to get a print for our fireplace. I just haven't found one that yells "BUY ME!"

This is Hayden's little tree. It was in his room for the longest time until one afternoon all of the ornaments were off of the tree. Now it is in the bonus room facing the street.

The tree is decorated with Hallmark ornaments and a few other fun ornaments. I use to work at Hallmark many years ago. I think the oldest one I have is from 1992.

This is our new Hallmark ornament for this year. This is Hayden's favorite ornament and I swear he would sleep with it if I let him. He LOVES Buzz Lightyear.
