Lost but Not Forgotten

While camping this weekend in Mendocino, I lost Trever's wedding band. He was preparing chicken and didn't want to get it all gross so he asked me to take it off of his finger. I put it in my jacket pocket and zipped it up. Well, out of sight out of mind. I was busy taking photos and was pulling and putting my camera in and out of the same pocket. I have completely beat myself up over this and couldn't feel worse. We looked for hours, but could never find it. We even rented a metal detector to try and locate the ring. We found everything but his wedding band. I feel like I have left a piece of my marriage forever in Mendocino.

Trying to make light of the situation.

Time for a Hair Cut

Today I took Hayden to get his hair cut. I have debated with this issue for some time now because I really wanted to let his hair grow a bit. Unfortunately he has straight and curly hair so it was always a mess. He was so good! I was so very proud of him. This was the first time he hasn't cried.

This is what his hair would look like on a daily basis. I love the big wave curl on top that would NEVER lay down.

He would laugh every time she would use the clippers and blow dryer.

Now he has a big boy hair cut!

Bounce Bounce Bounce

Today the Pleasanton Mom's Club went to Bounce U for the kids outing. Hayden had such a blast! He would run up to me and give me the biggest hug and then take off again to play. I will definitely have to take him to the Bounce U in Lexington when we move back home. Poor little guy wore himself out. He almost fell asleep while eating his lunch.

Hayden enjoyed playing Dodgeball with Mom.

He is growing up so fast. I didn't think he could climb this, but as usual he proved mom wrong.

King of the Bounce U!

Big Sur National Park

Sunday we drove to Big Sur National Park to camp and hike. It was real close to the ocean so the weather was nice and cool. Hayden had a great time at our campsite. I was constantly on my toes though because he would want to play near the poison ivy and the embankment that lead to the creek. Boys will be boys!

If you notice the mountains are black. This is due to the Big Sur fires that burned earlier this summer. Majority of the trails were still closed for hiking. In one weekend over 1400 fires were burning throughout the bay area due to heat lightening.

This was our campsite at Fernwood Campground in Big Sur. We put our tent up on the top deck and Aaron put his tent on the bottom deck near the creek. Hayden had a great time throwing rocks into the creek. My son, Pig Pen. Whenever he would walk, dust and dirt would just fall off of him.

Field of beautiful Sunflowers.

Touring the Wineries of Livermore, CA

After driving and hiking in Yosemite National Park on Thursday and Friday, we decided to take it easy on Saturday. We drove to Livermore, which is about 15 minutes from our house, to tour some of the wineries there. Trever and I have lived in Pleasanton since September and have never toured the wineries of Livermore. The prices are a lot cheaper than Napa's and we really enjoyed the laid back environment.

These pictures were taken at Concannon Winery. This is mine and Trever's favorite winery in Livermore, CA.

A Day in San Francisco

Trever's brother, Aaron, came to California for a visit. On his first day we took him to San Francisco and Muir Woods. Hayden was such a trooper all day, until his meltdown at Ghirardelli Square. Poor little guy. He was completely pooped.

Walking through Muir Woods with Uncle Aaron

We went to Chinatown and ate at a great restaurant, Hang Ah Mandarin Cuisine. It was by far the best Sweet & Sour Chicken I have ever tasted!

This is an outfit we bought for Hayden in Chinatown. We also bought one for Jack and Reagan. Hayden was making us laugh as he danced on the table in his silk jammies.
