Happy Easter

We wanted to wish each of you a very Happy Easter. Easter is another holiday that is dear to my heart. As Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, Easter celebrates His greatest gift to us, His life. My Redeemer Lives!

Hayden had a very nice Easter. I kind of went overboard. I can only blame it on the fact that he was so little last year. I think Hayden's favorite gift from the Easter Bunny was the package of Beach Toys.

Funny Pics of Hayden

Yesterday Hayden didn't nap at all. That means it was a very long day for mom. He never acted tired. I tried to get him to nap around 1:00 p.m., but he just sat in his crib laughing and talking for an hour. This picture was taken around 7:30 p.m. last night. His normal bedtime is 8:00. I had to change his diaper and put his jammies on him before laying him down. I didn't hear a peep from him until 7:30 this morning.

McDonald's has pirate toys for boys in the Happy Meals. This is the pirate hat that Hayden got on Tuesday. The hat barely fits my son's big head. We went to McDonald's before his haircut appointment. That was not a fun appointment. I literally thought he was going to throw up his lunch because he was crying so hard. I felt so bad because I had to physically hold him. I have probably traumatized him from getting his haircut in the future.

MMMMM I Love Ice Cream

Monday I took Hayden to Baskin-Robbins for an afternoon treat. He was cracking me up! He was loving every bite.

Home in Pleasanton, CA

Some of you may not have seen pictures of the house we are renting in California. It is a nice home, but not nearly as much as it is worth. I believe it was on the market for $1.6. CRAZY! The neighborhood we live in does not have houses below $1.2. The market out here is wild. We were lucky that we were able to rent the house furnished. The only things we brought with us were our king size bed, Hayden's crib and rocker, TV for bedroom and other necessities. It makes going home to visit a lot easier. This house may be nice, but I miss my brand new home in Kentucky. We were only in our house a year before we moved out here. It has three bedrooms and four full baths. I believe it is 3900 sq. feet total. Besides the problems we are having with ants, bees, and gophers the house is great!

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Lil' Sugarplum

http://www.lilsugarplum.com/

I bought Reagan, my niece, some really adorable hair clips from Lil' Sugarplum. They are so beautiful and they came wrapped in an adorable box. Please check out their website and should you order some just say that Ronda White referred you.

Thanks.

Lake Tahoe

We had such a wonderful time at Lake Tahoe this past weekend. Lake Tahoe is simply beautiful. Photos and words do not do it justice. It just shows God's great beauty on this earth. Friday afternoon we took Hayden sledding. He had a ball. He laughed the entire time. A blizzard came through Friday night. It was a perfect day on Saturday for Trever to ski. Tons of fresh powder. Saturday morning we had to purchase chains for our tires. They had the road blocked to check vehicles. It was not a cheap purchase -$130.00. We needed them though. We will probably make another ski trip to Tahoe before the end of the season as well as a trip this summer to enjoy the warmth and beauty of the lake.

Lodge at Northstar. Northstar ski resort was really neat. There was a little village at the base with great shops and outdoor ice skating.

This was the view from our hotel balcony on Saturday morning. We had an awesome view of the lake.

Sunol Regional Forest

Yesterday was such a beautiful day. It was so warm. We went for a hike at the Sunol Regional Forest. The Alameda Creek, the largest stream in the county, winds through the southern part of this park. The park is 5,024 acres. We hiked a trail that was moderate for children. The trail takes you to "Little Yosemite," a gorge on the Alameda Creek with huge boulders and a small waterfall. It was all so beautiful. Hayden had a great time. He really enjoyed throwing rocks into the creek.

Hey Granddad, I bet you a Dollar

Growing up my father use to bet us $1 if we could eat a lemon without making a face. I use to be able to do it, but after awhile the lemon would win. At a very young age Hayden use to lick lemons and not make a face at all. We all found this very funny.

Last night we ate dinner downtown. It was a cool night, but we decided to eat outside. Hayden enjoyed it because he would wave to everyone that would walk by. He is my little social bug. As we were finishing our dinner he noticed the lemons on the table. We laughed so hard tears were coming down our faces.

Easter Bunny

Yesterday I took Hayden to see the Easter Bunny. I had a feeling that he would react the same as he did when he saw Santa. He would wave to the Easter Bunny from a distance, but started to say "No No" as I was taking him over to sit on his lap. I couldn't help myself. The picture is just too darn cute.

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo - San Jose, CA

Today we took Hayden to Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in San Jose, CA. This is a park and zoo for young children. The park has tons of things for the kids to climb on and some rides as well. I think Hayden enjoyed running around. It was a little cooler today, 62, so we had to wear our jackets. I thought Hayden would really enjoy the Merry-Go-Round, but he didn't. I had to hold him because he wouldn't quit crying and saying "No No No."
