A Day in San Francisco

Trever's brother, Aaron, came to California for a visit. On his first day we took him to San Francisco and Muir Woods. Hayden was such a trooper all day, until his meltdown at Ghirardelli Square. Poor little guy. He was completely pooped.

We went to Chinatown and ate at a great restaurant, Hang Ah Mandarin Cuisine. It was by far the best Sweet & Sour Chicken I have ever tasted!

This is an outfit we bought for Hayden in Chinatown. We also bought one for Jack and Reagan. Hayden was making us laugh as he danced on the table in his silk jammies.

Evening of Ice Cream

Tonight after dinner we drove to Livermore to just walk around downtown. We ran into Gus, Trever's boss, and his son, Diego. We decided to go and get some ice cream to top off the evening. Hayden enjoyed his scoop of strawberry ice cream.

Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA

Today we went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA. Trever and I have watched the famous Garlic Cook Off on the Food Network so I was excited that the festival was being held during our stay in California.

There were SO many people there. It was crazy! We had a beautiful day, but the weather was so HOT! I was sweating in places that God didn't intend for me to sweat. Because of the heat I wasn't hungry, just thirsty. By mid afternoon I was feeling so weak and sick because I hadn't eaten anything but about five nachos.

We tried the free garlic ice cream. They can keep it! I almost gagged. Poor Hayden licked it and then went, "Yuck." Who can blame him? Trever ate his and some garlic stuffed mushrooms. I think he has garlic coming out of his pores now. Just standing next to him will ward off any vampires.

This is where they held the Garlic Showdown!

Hayden didn't really care for the car ride because it would go up and down really fast. I think it scared him a bit. He LOVED the teacup ride. He wanted me to spin it really fast and I wanted to throw up!!

Dad putting his Home Depot apron on. They even put his name on it. It was too cute!

Photos with Mommy

Today Hayden and I went to Picture People to have some photos made. I had a coupon for three free portraits so I couldn't pass up the deal to take some pictures with my little man. Actually, I think these are the only professional photos I have of just the two of us.

This is my favorite photo. He would run to the camera and push the flash button and then run back to me for the picture. This pose was a surprise. He just ran back to me and threw his arms around my neck.

Summer Fun! We were not able to get too many of this pose. He was more interested in throwing the ball, getting in and out of the chair, etc.

Maybe they will never notice...

Those who know me know that my favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story. One of my favorite lines is when Ralphie gets hit in his glasses from the BB and tries to play it off with his glasses.

On our way back home from our walk this afternoon, Hayden broke his glasses. When he put them on his face I started to laugh. Silly little Monkey!!

"Maybe they will never notice the lens is gone."

Sex and the City - Pleasanton Style

Today Sarah Jessica Parker was at the Macy's in Pleasanton to sign her perfume gift set. The gift set cost over $160 and then you could stand in line for her to autograph the perfume. Hayden and I stood with those who just wanted a free picture.

She looked so beautiful and it was definitely a chance of a lifetime to see her.

This was my view before all of the Macy employees rushed behind the counter and blocked my wonderful view.

Evening with Friends

My friend, Beth Jacobson, and her sister, Christina, are out here in California for a family reunion. I was so thrilled to be able to catch up with her. Trever and I took them to one of our favorite beer and burger joints in Danville, CA. It is called Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash. If you live in the East Bay and haven't tried it, you should. It is awesome!

Hayden enjoyed spending the evening with new friends. He took a liking to Christina. He wanted her to go everywhere with him. He would grab her finger and just tug her along. It was too cute.
