Birthday
My first present of the day, my son allowed his mom to sleep in. Usually Hayden wakes up around 6:15 a.m. and I usually do not get him out of his bed until 7:00 a.m. This morning I heard him around 5:45 a.m. and I am assuming he went back to sleep because I didn't hear him again until 7:30 a.m. He sat and played quietly in his bed until 8:00 a.m. Great start to mom's birthday. Trever cooked us all blueberry pancakes and fixed hot chocolate.
Time for the presents. Hayden got mom a great pair of Teva sandals and Trever got me a pair of North Face hiking pants that unzip to shorts. So far it has been a great birthday.
Tonight Trever and I are having our first date night since Christmas. A lady that Trever works with is going to watch Hayden for a couple of hours. She has two adorable kids so I know Hayden will have a blast at her house. I think we are going to the movies. We haven't been to the movies since December.
Thank you to all of my friends and family who have sent cards and birthday wishes. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next week on our trip back home to Kentucky.

Civil War Battle and Encampment - Memorial Day Weekend
Hayden and Trever in our tent.

The soldiers we stayed with.
This was the kitchen at their camp. The food was awesome. It was amazing that he could cook like that over a fire. The biscuits in the dutch oven put Cracker Barrel's biscuits to shame.

Getting the campsite ready for dinner. Our tent is the Yellow and Silver one.
Hayden enjoying a juice break while the men fix dinner.
Hayden sleeping in our tent. He was as snug as a bug in a rug.
Different view of our campsite.
Hayden loved playing in the sand.
He got really tired and would just lay in the sand. It was too cute.

First Time Camping
Being a mother means so much to me. Especially being a Christian mother. The Lord has blessed me so very much. I am truly humble. With every hug, every kiss, every smile, every cry, I am thankful each and every day.
This past weekend we went camping at Del Valle Regional Park with Trever's boss, Gus and his son, Diego. Del Valle Regional Park is only about a 30 minute drive from our house. It was mine and Hayden's first time tent camping. I remember camping as a child, but it was at the Kentucky Horse Park in a camper. We had a lot of fun. The weather was so nice. Hayden had a blast. We went for a hike after setting up camp. The hike was not kid friendly. It kicked Trever and I in the rear. Especially Trever. He was carrying an extra 40 lbs. on his back. We were so happy to see the parking lot at the end. We are suppose to go camping in Sunset Beach Memorial Day weekend so we are really looking forward to that.
Taking a juice break. Check out his knee. The first battle wound of the weekend. We had to break out the first aid kit before the tent was up.
Trever putting up the tent. It was really comfortable. We had a queen size air mattress, really warm sleeping bags, and comfy pillows. I wasn't going to rough it as much as I had to.
Trever, Diego and Hayden flying a kite.
Resting by the campfire. Check out his knees. Fresh bandages and more scratches. He was a tough little guy.

Life in Pleasanton
We are hoping to go camping real soon. We have reservations at Sunset Beach for Memorial Day weekend. I think Hayden will have a great time playing on the beach. Hopefully the weather will stay nice.
We are going back home to Kentucky in June for Hayden's 2nd Birthday. I cannot believe my little guy will be 2. Makes me sad that he is growing up so quickly.
This was Hayden's first time riding by himself. He gave Trever and I a look at first, but I think he really enjoyed riding the train like a big boy!
