Winchester Mystery House

I was so happy to see my mom on Wednesday. I picked her and her cousin, Clayrene, up at the San Jose Airport Wednesday morning. We drove into San Jose and had lunch down on Santana Row. Santana Row is an upscale shopping district. After lunch we went to the Winchester Mystery House. You can check out the Winchester Mystery House at www.winchestermysteryhouse.com. In 1884 Sarah Winchester, heiress to the Winchester Rifle, started construction on her home. Construction lasted for 38 years until her death. She believed that she was haunted by the ghosts of those who were killed by the Winchester Rifles. The house has doors that open to a wall, stairs that lead up to the ceiling, and other odd features. She believed this would confuse the ghosts. It was a nice start to their California vacation.
